Hey boo’s!
I KNOW it has been quite awhile since I popped up on this here blog but nonetheless I have not forgotten about my babes!!! on a serious tip, anyone in school knows about the refund check situation that happens if your financial aid exceeds your expenses. Well here are some tips I have gathered together about how you should spend or invest your allotted funds no matter how big or small. 1. Save it! now some schools like my undergraduate and graduate school will allow you to just leave it on your account to use for the next semester or to “hold” as long as you acknowledge that within the process of financial checkin servicing. I however opt for the last option which is to get it sent to me and I place in within my own account, pay my tithes and offerings and work it out accordingly amongst my own finances. 2. Books Books and MORE Books Depending on how hefty your refund is, I would say after you pay your tithes and offerings sis (don’t rob God, AINT worth it) put a good chin I of that money to the side for your books for the next semester or year. Having some money left to use for that necessity is better than having none at all. 3. Wardrobe Here’s a fun way to splurge ESPECIALLY if you are making them grades and handing in that homework on time girls!!! Splurge on one ☝🏾 item that is non essential, i.e. nails, new boots, a faux fur jacket, new cellphone case etc.) 4. SAVE for a Car If I had done the math correctly and knew more about how refunds work I honestly could have had two cars right now but I didn’t. So I don’t but TRUST them refund checks add up sis!!! So why not save for a while and buy a car for graduation??? 5. Emergency Fund Alright sugar boo’s y’all never know what can happen while in school, my freshman semester I had a bout with food poisoning from good ole ’potle Aka Chipotle and had no extra funds to spend on medicinal needs. But Grace be unto God because He has mercy on me and my school cafeteria and vendors actually made sure I was taken care of free of charge from soups, to drinks and medicine. I also had a dear friend of mine to pay for extras like cough drops and laundry due to me throwing up over all of my comforter and clothing hamper. Putting a portion of your refund check into a mini emergency fund for, gas, medical needs or toiletries is one of the better ways to utilize the money from your refund check. Thanks for reading lovelies! Peace & Blessings, <3 Nándi
